Kristin Cuzzourt

LPC-MHSP, Consultant-in-Training, Basic Training Assistant

At one point in my career, I wondered if I’d made the right choice in training in EMDR. I didn’t feel confident working with clients, & what I’d learned didn’t seem to be enough for the level of trauma I was seeing clients present with in session. That lack of confidence & fear that I didn’t know “enough” is why I’m now an EMDR consultant-in-training. I want to work with other clinicians to deepen their skills and effectiveness, as well as their confidence, in delivering EMDR therapy. I want to help therapists expand beyond the basics of the model to feel more flexible, intuitive, and assured in their work with clients.

I bring curiosity & attunement to creating a collaborative consultation space where clinicians can ask questions, explore their doubts & ideas, and refine their case conceptualization. My specific interests are in helping therapists adapt EMDR to meet the needs of adult neurodivergent clients & to navigate complex trauma and attachment issues.

My style is encouraging, engaged, and practical—balancing trust in the standard EMDR model with adaptation for real-world application. I believe consultation should help build skills & increase a therapist’s sense of confidence and clarity in session.

And I believe like Picasso that you have to “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.”
